Worm Care

 

Dear Parents,

 

The students made a vermicomposting (worm composting) bin for our classroom with approx. 1,000 hungry worms that must be fed each week.

 

Your child is responsible for bringing food for the worms this week.  Please assist your child in collecting the following food scraps in the quart bag provided and return it to class on Thursday or Friday to feed the worms.

 

Food for the worms:

Food scraps such as carrot, or cucumber peels, apple cores, lettuce or leafy greens, coffee grounds or tea bags

 

Please DO NOT feed them:

Meat scraps, dairy products, potato peels, citrus fruits or peels or eggshells
